What A System Reviews

Review by Mick Sleeper, Charging from the Bass, Ontario, Canada

What A System is a great album, full of rootsy arrangements and miltant lyrics. Classic reggae themes such as injustice, poverty, modern day slavery, and day-to-day wisdom all get shouted out on the album. "Rock Your Bones" is the groovy opening track, designed "to release the tension" before Fearon and company get to the point. With songs like "Chatty Chatty Mouth", "Another Day", and the title track, Boogie Brown evokes memories of Justin Hinds, Joe Higgs, and Peter Tosh - great minds thinking alike. "Bucky Massa" is one of my favorite numbers, an eloquently angry skank that has Fearon shouting "enough is enough, give I and I a break" at modern day slave drivers. The rest of the album is just as strong, as Boogie Brown Band never get weary. Weakheart a go feel it!
